What is eat! Brussels drink! Bordeaux?
eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX is an annual event for discovering delicious food prepared by various Brussels restaurants while tasting select wines from the Bordeaux region in France! In short, it’s a 3-day gastronomic festival for people of all ages.
This year will be the 4th edition of eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX, which will take place in the Parc de Bruxelles / Waranderpark in the center of Brussels (across from the Royal Palace). You will not want to miss this event so mark it down on your calendar today!
Eighteen restaurants from Brussels will offer their culinary creations in this outdoor green setting. Follow this link and scroll down to the “Restaurants” heading to see a list of participating restaurants and their menus. The range of different cuisines that will be offered during this festival is exciting! Thank goodness the festival lasts 3 days so you can come back and try them all! I’m planning on coming more than once during this festival.
In pavilions featuring numerous appellations from the Bordeaux region, you will discover red wine from Saint-Emilion-Pomerol – Fronsac, Medoc et Graves, Côtes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieurs, as well as a selection of white Bordeaux wines. No need to be a wine connoisseur, as The Bordeaux School of Wine will be organizing several workshops throughout the 3-day event to help you appreciate better various aspects of the wines you will taste. A free workshop is included with your “Wine Pass” so be sure to take advantage of this special opportunity. Perhaps we can arrange to take a workshop together…
Mmmmh! will organize 14 cooking classes during the 3-day festival, each with a different theme. Follow this link now to view the program. From 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday 12 September and on Sunday 13 September, a class will be designed for parents and their children. Participation in all classes will be subject to space availability so be sure to buy your tickets now and reserve your spot in as many class(es) as you like.
Will there only be food from Brussels featured at the event?
Although the name of this event eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX suggests that all the food will come from Brussels, several international partners of eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX will offer you samples of food and artisan products from their regions in Africa, Asia, Americas and Europe. Partners from closer to Brussels will also offer culinary goodies from regions surrounding the Brussels-Capital Region.
Keep in mind that even among the Brussels restaurants participating in eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX food from other parts of the world will be featured. Some of the local restaurants will of course present samples of famous Belgian cuisine, yet other restaurants will serve specialties from Ethiopia, Greece, Lebanon, Portugal, Spain (Basque Region), and Japan!
In the Artisans’ Village, artisans from all parts of Belgium will introduce you to their homemade products, such as jams, candies, tea, foie gras, and more. Visit the Artisans’ Village to enjoy free samples of their products, to find out more about how they make their products, or just to chat with the producers.
